Admission to SCS

Students are admitted to SCS based on the completion and review of family applications, academic records, student references, and admissions interviews.

All applications for admission will be considered from:

  • Families which include at least one parent/guardian who is personally committed to Christ and can sign they agree with the SCS Statement of Faith and Parent Commitment (John 3:3, I Peter 1:23), OR Students Grades 7 – 12 who are personally committed to Christ and express a desire to attend SCS.

  • Families who regularly attend a Bible-believing, Christ-confessing church in which the Bible is believed and taught. (Hebrews 10:25)

  • Parents who understand, and agree with, the purpose of SCS to provide children with a Christ-centred education in which Jesus Christ is acknowledged in every area; where the basis for instruction is the Bible, the Word of God.

  • Parents who are committed to support the work of SCS through prayer, volunteer labour, and financial contributions.

  • Students who are not under suspension/expulsion from another school; if so, evidence of satisfactory behaviour must be demonstrated prior to application to SCS.

Please feel free to contact our Admissions Team should you have any questions about the application process.

Steps to Apply

The following application documents must be completed and/or submitted before an admissions interview will be scheduled:

After sending in all required documents, the Admissions Team will contact you to arrange a family interview.

New applicants will be accepted on the basis of a complete review of the academic information, the personal interview and reference forms.  Applicants will be contacted within one week of the interview to notify you if your child has been accepted with all acceptances granted on a 60-day probationary basis.  Successful applicants in excess of the number we are able to accept will be placed on a waiting list.

Things to Remember

  • A substantial portion of your tuition is tax deductible.

  • Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years of age by January 31 of the school year in which they will be enrolled.

  • Students who are not Canadian citizens and/or do not speak English as a first language must contact the SPSD Newcomer Student Centre before the SCS application process can begin.  The Centre is located at 310 21 Street East and can be reached at (306) 683-8400.  SCS is not part of the International Student Program.  SCS requires all students to have a resident parent in Saskatoon and students must be able to function in English in our classrooms. A number of schools in Saskatoon have EAL programs (English as an additional language), but SCS does not.

  • IMPORTANT:   Parents/guardians are responsible for following up on the Church Reference and/or Character Reference forms.  These forms can be faxed or emailed to the school to accelerate the process.  Please submit the remainder of the admission package while waiting for reference forms to be submitted.  However, interviews will only be scheduled once we receive all the required forms and documents.

  • Pages of forms marked FILL OUT AND RETURN need to be turned in as part of your admission packet.  Those marked READ AND KEEP are to be kept for your personal records.

  • To plan for each year, SCS must know in advance every potential or probable need for intensive supports.  Failure to accurately inform SCS about the level of support required may result in our inability to meet students' needs in the future.
