Report an Absence

Why This Matters

Using the correct process ensures your child is accounted for and keeps our school community safe.

If absences are not reported through the School Office, the school cannot accurately account for student whereabouts. This creates safety risks and unnecessary follow-up for staff.

For this reason, all absences must be reported directly to the School Office using the process outlined below.

How To Report Absences (Gr. K-12)

All absences, late arrivals, and early departures must be reported to the School Office Receptionist by a parent or guardian.

Report absences 24/7 using ONE of the following methods:

When reporting, please include:

  • Parent/guardian's first and last name
  • Student's first and last name
  • Student's grade
  • Reason for the absence, late arrival, or early departure

Important to Note

Teachers do not record or accept absence reports.
Absence information shared with classroom teachers is not considered reported.

Students may not excuse themselves.
Absences must always be reported by a parent or guardian.

All late arrivals and early departures must be signed in/out at the School Office.
Parents and students must use the main entrance and report to the Receptionist.

Late students must obtain a late slip from the Receptionist before going to class so arrivals are officially recorded.
